Mission of the Organization

 

Educational Center - Algoritam is committed to the promotion of the values of social inclusion and their integration into the policies of the state and civil society. Its primary concerns in the area of social integration are: childrens and youths rights, gender equity, fight against violence, democratization of schools, fight against inter-cultural violence and discrimination of people with disabilities. 

 

Main areas of activities are

 

Main areas of activities of the Educational Center - Algoritam are:

 

  • Awareness raising regarding human rights and advocacy toward social inclusion through training of teachers in primary and secondary school as the environment which is at the heart of the processes of social inclusion/exclusion in a society.

  • Applied research which serves as the basis for policy recommendations addressed to the institutions of the state.

  • Training which is based on original research and methodological frame [designed especially for the trainings] enabling awareness raising in teachers regarding values of social inclusion: in particular fight against inter-cultural violence, democratization of schools and gender equity.

Algoritam Educational Center has three full time employees and a pool of 15 experts in various fields. 20 experts are invited to join the Algoritam Educational Center team on as need basis. Founders of the Center are: Ms. Marina Bozinova and Katerina Kolozova, Ph.D.

Narrative Description of Project:

 

The aim of this project was to establish a national policies and guidelines against violence in schools, and develop protocols and procedures for identification, treatment and referral of cases of violence; to support primary school teachers, pedagogues, and psychologists in all primary schools in the organization of specific curricula and extra-curricular activities that prevents and responds to violence in the schools. Violence has been identified as predominantly inter-cultural and gender based.

Policies have been developed and proposed to the Ministry of Education and Sciences.

 

Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff:

 

  • Research study in the inter-cultural preconditions of violence and its gender dimensions has been conducted which served as the methodological basis for the trainings and the policy recommendations that have been developed as the delivery of this project.
  • Development of teachers guidelines and other materials for activities related to violence and training for the teachers
  • Training of all primary schools in the country
  • Development of teachers manual and other materials for activities related to violence
  • Establishment of national group for prevention of violence in the MoES
  • Establishment of project teams in the schools

 

Complete realization of research and organization of workshops, providing logistics, organizing transport and training of primary education teachers.

 

Methodological study on intercultural violence, followed by designing of a questionnaire, collected data and developed report on satisfaction of the trainings have been produced by the Consultant and the reset of the Team.

Narrative Description of Project:

 

The Electronic Assessment & Testing Project envisaged advanced level of professional development of teachers in primary and secondary schools in the R. Macedonia.

The project included 100 schools which proposed 3 to 5 teachers who received license for trainers in the field of electronic assessment and testing.

The training under the EATP included 350 teachers from primary and secondary schools in Macedonia.

The trainers delivered the same training to their colleagues in their respective schools.

 

Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff:

 

Organization, logistics and support of the project.

Training of 350 primary and secondary education teachers in ICT.

 

The training course included a number of topics:

         Work in a network;

         Advanced topics in working with tables: entering data (creating data bases), searching, using formulae, automatic filling of cells, cells addressing, automatic formatting, copying and moving cells, inserting graphics and functions;

         Internet; E-mail;

         Creating and developing special software for electronic assessment & testing.
